  1. wecoopers Happy Ours - LKG: Property under contract

    SailBlogs &bull Feb 11, 2012

Yup, I went and made an offer on a 1518 SF home on fairly large lot (for FL) in Lake Park. It has 4 bedroom, 2 baths, living room, combinations dining area and den (larger than living room), and laundry room off the small kitchen. There's a large mango tree in the backyard, and a coconut palm full of nuts in the front yard next to the circular driveway (on the right in pic). Lots of room for a future pool and fruit trees. It's in a really nice, well maintained neighborhood, only 1/2 mile from the AICW, 1 mile… Full Story »

  3. Butterfly adventures: Getting into Manana

    SailBlogs &bull Feb 10, 2012

Well it has been a little bit since we updated this blog- as I've been told! We have been pretty busy with boat chores, working on new business opportunities, and generally trying to adapt to the manana groove. It seems like there is so much happening, yet it also feels very relaxing at the same time- I think I'll just let the synapses fire and try to give you a little taste of life here. Exercise- we all need it, few of us like it (me in particular!) and finding the time for it can be a challenge. Take today… Full Story »

Det behovs fler bra shorthandseglingar runt om vara svenska kuster, det star ganska klart. 13. Eco-dilemma

    Zensekai II &bull Feb 6, 2012

LZ is big on convenience she has no problem using plastic-ware. I do. One of the conveniences she sees/wants on the passage is using plastic-ware so as not to have to wash a lot of eating utensils. I have a problem with that..trash!! UN-recyclable , UN-biodegradable plastic trash. We need to conserve water, but adding more plastic to the world's liquid trash pile, AKA the ocean, does not sit well with me. Even more so on a trip called the Eco-passage. Whilst on a trip… Full Story »

It's Christmas Eve! Merry Christmas Everybody!! We found an oyster farmer nearby, and we have been enjoying this fine delicacy. Tonight I made oyster stew for Christmas Eve. It's been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. We still marvel at the holiday season in the southern hemisphere. Kiwis celebrate Christmas with summer picnics on the beaches. This will be our 5th Christmas in the warm weather. I must admit though, it's been unusually cold here this year. We have… Full Story »

  20. S.V. Gratitude: Ready to go!

    SailBlogs &bull Dec 16, 2011

Finally, we are under way! This year was one for several upgrades to Gratitude: new, beefier batteries; solar panels to be less dependent on the diesel generator (not to mention "greener"); a second compressor for the refrigerator, dedicating the one installed last year to the freezer; and a new inverter/charger to replace the old one that went kaput last year and with more charging capacity when connected to shore current or on the generator. All that took time, not helped by the fact that the wiring diagrams were wrong! Just before departing, Lauren suggested we re-mark the anchor chain so… Full Story »
