    SailBlogs &bull Dec 15, 2011

Well, we arrived at Lizard Island just after 3 this morning, got our phones out in hope for some reception but it was very limited, so it was off to bed. After breakfast we climbed about a fifth or maybe a quarter of the way up Cook's Lookout to get some phone reception so that we could call both sets of parents. The photo is of the view from where we stopped. While we were waiting for the Sun to lose some of its bite, Sam was very interested in finding out some good diving spots… Full Story »

Hit the ground running after arrival at Pier 21, slip A9. Have now whittled three month's boat work down to only four... Life would be beautiful if only the miserable weather would improve, all the projects were done, the boat were just 5 feet longer and the captain were younger, richer and better looking. Being delightfully adorable, however, does help. Speaking of toil, am writing this drivel at nearby Headquarters Cafe while finishing pain de perdue with double-shot cafe latte instead of replacing windlass solenoid and rebuilding KISS wind generator. We dropped the anchor in Chacala a week ago planning on spending a few days. Well we are still here and are thinking maybe to move along by Saturday... maybe. It really is one of those places that grows on you the longer your here. It's laid back, beautiful, has good restaurants and friendly people. The beach is one of those very very lush tropical settings that are few are far between. It does have some development on it, but there is still lots of jungle surrounding the beach. We have made it to Lizard Island and are planning on staying here for a week or so. It was a little interesting coming in here during the night but we have made it through the reef without any issues, having radar and gps made a huge difference. There are only a couple of other boats around, which is quite unusual for Lizard as you usually have to try and squeeze in somewhere. Maybe there is something we don't know... We beat the southerly change and I think when I wake up in the morning I will be… Full Story »

High speed internet has enabled us to build new online communities, friendships, and unite individuals who may never had had an opportunity to talk with one another. Companies and individuals now have an opportunity to reach out and express themselves to the masses via their own uniquely-designed websites, Facebook pages, LinkedIn groups, Blogs, Twitter accounts, and others. It's an amazing situation that we've found ourselves in, and one that deserves it's fair dose of consideration.
